The simple fact is, with modern times-to-market, it often seems that the advertising or marketing department is demanding photos of a newly-developed product long before that product has been manufactured and actually exists in the real world. Add to that the amount of retouching that is done to remove scratches and blemishes from photos, and it’s not hard to see why CG is a prefered solution.
Working with either CAD files or blueprints from the client, I build a precise model of the product, apply realistic materials, compose the scene, illuminate the scene with photometrically-accurate lighting, pull the necessary renders and composite them together into a remarkably compeliing image.
